Little Mr. & Miss Independence

The summer has been going well for both kiddos. Chris finished Lego camp a few weeks ago, we had last week off to swim and just hang out and this week he started a camp at the Boulder Children's Theater. They are doing The Jungle Book and Chris is VERY excited to do this. We did it last year and it was a huge hit.

On the swimming front, Chris is just a FISH in the water - he went from doggie paddle, to swimming with "big arms" to just going underwater and swimming as fast as he can. Our outdoor pool has been GREAT and has a lot of slides in it (see here) -- I actually got comfortable letting him go by himself to swim and slide and then check back in with me every 10-15 minutes if I'm not in the big pool with Libby.

Not a ton of new tricks with Libby except - we're really pushing the talking right now and I see a lot of changes in her, but nothing yet (I really think she's on the verge of talking a lot, but I guess I'll hear it when she does it).

Scott and my 20 year High School reunion is in 2 weeks -- I now have now bought outfits for both nights, my hair gets done next Monday, so I'll be "good to go". I'm pretty excited to go back and see lots of people that I would love to stay in contact with. I talked to my college roommate Laura (who was also a friend in HS) today and she heard that the guys from 311 will be coming back for some/part of the festivities -- it's pretty cool that a handful of guys from our class headed out to California after graduation and shot the moon and made it REALLY BIG (if you don't know about 311 (it's a very cool band), ask your kids, they probably know).

Here are a few pics from this morning -- Chris being a goofball and my Little Miss Independence (pun intended)
