Florida and more

OK, I haven't posted in weeks - why, you ask??

Scott and I went to Florida, all by ourselves. My Mom came out and watched the kids for 4 days and we got to enjoy the good life.

Scott does a lot of travelling all year speaking at conferences and such. The wonderful guy, Jay, that runs the conferences, took a lot of the speakers to Hollywood, Florida for an all expense paid retreat.

Here's the view of the pool and the ocean from our room:

The VERY cool thing I got to do while there was meet an online friend. I belong to a fairly exclusive online Down syndrome board - you have to apply and only a few a year are approved to be a part of it. I met Christina online there and when I realized that I was travelling to Florida, we made sure to meet up. She brought her daughter Kallie (absolute doll) and her husband Todd - we had lunch and got to know each other. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Here is a picture of myself with Kallie and one with Christina!!

Christmas Trees

We get a "real" Christmas tree every year. Why on earth don't they EVER drink a lot of water for me?? I have tried all of the tricks - we get a fresh cut on the tree right before we leave, I use HOT water, and I've even tried a 2 liter bottle of sprite one year. For me, it will usually take water for 3-4 days, then it just stops - now, I've never actually researched how long they "should" take water, I just always hope that it's a little longer than a few days.

Don't get me wrong - I love this time of year - it's my favorite. I'm just frustrated that I can't keep this darn tree even half alive for a couple of weeks.

Merry Christmas - Bah Humbug
